Sports massage is a more intensive massage focused on muscles strained by movement. It supports faster recovery, releases overloaded areas and prepares the body for its next performance. It suits professional and recreational athletes alike, as well as anyone active who wants to take good care of their body.
How a sports massage works
I choose the technique and intensity according to your goal. Before exertion I work more briskly and invigoratingly; after exertion, by contrast, more deeply and toward release. I focus on the most strained areas — typically the legs, back, shoulders or arms.
The pressure is firmer than in a relaxation massage, but I always adapt it to your tolerance. The goal is to release muscle tension and support recovery, not to 'overpower' you.
Effects and benefits of sports massage
- Faster muscle recovery after training or competition
- Prevention of injury and overload
- Release of stiff and overloaded muscles
- Better range of motion and flexibility
- Washing away fatigue and supporting circulation
Who sports massage is suitable for
- For runners, cyclists, weightlifters and team athletes
- For recreational athletes after a more demanding effort
- For anyone with muscles overloaded from physical work
What to keep in mind
I don't recommend sports massage on fresh injuries, strained muscles in the acute phase, inflammation or swelling of unknown origin. If you are dealing with a specific pain or injury, tell me about it — together we'll find a safe approach.
